We’ve all had social anxiety at one point or another. Luckily, Speaking Simulator is here to gamify that experience, taking that moment where a word vanishes from your vocabulary mid-sentence and bottling it in interactive form.
In Speaking Simulator you’re tasked with going on dates and giving presentations at work, but there’s a twist: you’re a robot disguised as a human. You’re not supposed to have a tongue flapping around in your mouth, but you do.
Imagine QWOP, but you’re controlling a tongue to spit out words, making sure you don’t accidentally knock your teeth out in the process.

The game gives you a feed of your face and also a picture-in-picture view of the inside of your mouth, along with the hellish things your wet and disgusting tongue is doing inside. It’s basically Death Stranding’s cargo management, but with a tongue and more believable dialogue.
If you mess up, parts of your face pop off and your eyes bulge out of your head, which is definitely going to be an element of my social anxiety dreams from here on out.
Speaking Simulator is coming early next year and features ten different scenarios, including at least one eulogy. You can wishlist it on Steam.
