John Wick game for NES doesn’t exist, doesn’t let that stop it
JoyMasher’s Danilo Dias offers this super-timely de-make (or a concept of one, anyway): John Wick, if the 2014 action flick was an NES adaptation about 25 years younger.
If nothing else, it reminds me of what “cover shooter” really was in the years before that became a subgenre. John rushes ever rightward and attacks ever upward, ultimately downing Viggo’s chopper and receiving his canine reward at the end of stage 5-2.
Awesome, now speedrun it! Blindfolded!
Clever commenters will note that The Continental’s custom guest-services system runs on a Commodore 64, so retro hardware is also a fitting medium for the Boogeyman.
John Wick has a bona fide real video game coming later this year, called John Wick Hex, for unspecified console and PC platforms. And you may have heard about the current cross promotion within Fortnite, which has made things super weird thanks to the Reaper skin that has been in the game for more than year.
